“LRA staff have access to credit for home improvement through the LRA-LPA Credit Scheme. Since 2018, LRA staff have accessed more than USD$500.000 in credits from vendors and the support of the Guaranty Trust Bank (GT), for purchases of appliances, building materials, furniture, electronics, cement, and other commodities at affordable interest. The scheme is also popular with merchants who can improve product turnover and expand business activities. The impact on the economic is enormous as this scheme contribute to domestic resource mobilization with increase in taxes. Since the inauguration, there has been no defaults.”
