(Monrovia, October 3, 2020): The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) is in shock and mourns the discovery of the bodies of two of its employees Albert Peters, Assistant Commissioner for Internal Audit Department, and Gifty Asmah-Lama, Manager, Taxpayer Service Division.
On early Friday morning, October 2, 2020, the police confirmed the presence of the two LRA employees in a parked vehicle belonging to deceased Assistant Commissioner Peters on Broad Street in Central Monrovia.
Commissioner General Thomas Doe Nah and management note the loss of great team members and assets to the institution and Liberian government.
The LRA requires that the Liberia National Police (LNP) does all within its power to promptly investigate and establish the actual circumstances surrounding the death of the two employees. The LRA urges the public to assist the police with relevant information that will aid the investigation.
The LRA extends condolences to the families of the two deceased employees and promises to support the LNP and family to conclude the investigation in the shortest period.
