LRA Taxpayer Services Division Holds Strategic Retreat to Strengthen Service Delivery and Revenue Mobilization

The LRA Taxpayer Services Division (TPSD) has commenced a three-day Annual Training Retreat, marking a significant step toward strengthening internal collaboration and enhancing taxpayer engagement in support of the country’s revenue goals.

The retreat, which runs through Sunday, is being held under the theme: “Strengthening Internal Collaboration to Enhance Taxpayer Education, Awareness, Sensitization, and Support Services to Drive a Billion-Dollar Budget.”

The event taking place in Margibi County brings together staff of the division and collaborating stakeholders to reflect, strategize, and align efforts toward boosting voluntary tax compliance.

Speaking at the opening, Assistant Commissioner for TPSD, Isaac B. Stevens, described the retreat as a defining moment for the division, emphasizing the need to transform how the Authority engages with taxpayers across the country.

According to him, achieving a billion-dollar budget goes beyond meeting a financial target as it requires building a responsive and taxpayer-focused system that ensures every taxpayer is informed, supported, and enabled to meet their tax obligations.

He stressed that stronger internal coordination, improved communication, and a renewed commitment to service excellence are critical to enhancing taxpayer trust and participation in the tax system.
Mr. Stevens noted that the retreat provides a platform for brainstorming innovative strategies that will shape the division’s operations, particularly in the areas of taxpayer education, awareness, and service delivery.

The initiative underscores the LRA’s broader commitment to strengthening domestic revenue mobilization, improving taxpayer services, and supporting national development through an inclusive and efficient tax administration system.
